Benjamin's Obituary

Benjamin Peter Gillio, 75, of Spokane, passed away on 6/22/22.  Ben was born on March 28, 1947 to Frank and Marie Gillio in Spokane Washington.  After Ben graduated from Mead High School he pursued a Bachelor’s of Science at Washington State University where he met the love of his life, Sandra.  After graduation he served his country for over 20 years in the U.S. Army.   In 1969 Ben and Sandra were married and went on to have 2 children, Matthew & Allyson.  Ben retired from the Army in 1991 as a Lt. Colonel and in 2012 retired from the State of Washington.  Ben was predeceased in death by Frank & Marie and James.  Ben lived life to the fullest and would do anything for anyone and loved unconditionally.  His family was his world and is survived by his wife Sandra, children Matthew & Angel, Allyson & Brent and his granddaughters Anastasia, Cheyanne, Emma, Cassie and Addison.

Ben and I were closest of classmates at Mead.  I remember in Math, we played alot of Battleships - don't remember who won the most, but we both stratagized...I hadn't seen Ben since HS, and didn't know he went into the Army, but at that tme, you either joined, or got drafted.

I most remember Ben's smile and the fact that he did help people alot.

He will be missed, and another Mead Sneaky member has gone to be with thos olhers nefore him.  May God take care of Ben now, and may he bless the Gillio family forever.
